You never heard the company Belfor Restoration and so have I. But after Undercover Boss, chances are Belfor and CEO Sheldon Yellen are going to be household names.
Undercover Boss featured the latest the CEO of Belfor Restoration, a company that rebuild properties that were destroyed or damaged. Sheldon Yellen armed with paint and drill, went undercover. I applaud his courage to go- no. CRAWL under houses! I am proud of Sheldon Yellen for doing this. And of course, for giving Jen a raise immediately. Did you see how she back pedal and say that Belfor was such a good company the moment she got her raise? Yeah, I was proud of Sheldon Yellen but not when he blew his cover! In the battle of drywall vs CEO, of course I put my money on drywall.
Well, I guess no CEO is perfect. Sheldon Yellen had his grumpiness and patience tied with a thread. And loosely at that.
Undercover Boss works slightly better that camera pranks and spoofs. The high-ranking executive goes undercover working an entry level. Hear a sorry story and tries to change their jobs for the better. I don’t know how they pull this one every week but, they bring in a camera and nobody notice something is off? Their excuse is that they are making a documentary. Yeah, it may work one, two, or three times but wow, they are on air since 2009!
Anyway, at the end of each week, the Undercover Boss reveals himself, called the individual he worked with to the main office and surprises here and there.
In the US Franchise, other companies whose executives went undercover were DirecTv, Choice Hotels, Great Wolf Lodge Inc., Nascar, and Chiquita Brands. The first episode piloted after the Super Bowl which captured an audience of 38 Million! Featured was CEO of Waste Management Inc.
