Rally to Restore Sanity –is this a take off from the Restoring Honor rally?

The Rally to Restore Sanity is a rally promoted by Jon Stewart. He made his announcement about the rally on his daily show at Comedy Central. According to Jon Stewart, the Rally to Restore Sanity is for rationality. He aims to encourage viewers to join him to rally against the United States radical political trends; the conservative blocks of the Tea Party; and Obama. My friend Simon says we could conveniently call it the anti-Republican, anti-government rally. Ha-ha.

It’s a crazy idea to begin with. My friend Simon even said that this might initially be an attempt to make a parody of the Restoring Honor rally went overboard. But The Rally to Restore Sanity just might be a success with the looks of how people are responding. Hours after the page was set up at Facebook, Rally to Restore Sanity hits more than 30 thousand members. Not to mention satellite stations for people not making it at DC but want to participate. Jon Stewart’s call is not for the left or the right. It is a call for those who just about had it.

The Rally to Restore Sanity will meet head on with March to Keep Fear Alive, one headed and promoted by Stephen Colbert. The Rally to Restore Sanity and March to Keep Fear Alive are set to hold their rallies together, or against each other (who knows with Comedy Central funny men at the front line no one can tell, really. These could be just a satirical response to Glen Beck’s Restoring Honor rally), on October 30, 2010 at the National Mall in Washington, DC.

If you are thinking of joining, you don’t have to bring your own poster signs. Jon Stewart understands you are all busy; he will take care of that.
